Course content

Introduction. The role of computer support for the organization of road transport. Linear programming and the Excel Solver program. Information systems in passenger transport, electronic timetables. The use of mobile phones in road transport. Programs for transport services (SKELETON, SPADO, DHV Bus, BUSE, DORIS, AUDIS). Linear programming transport problems. Traffic calming. Use of methods in transportation network analysis (MS Project). Fleet Controlling. Programs for the transport of dangerous goods (DOK, ADREM, etc.). National Traffic IC. Programs for transporting oversized cargo. PC support for used cars, car showroom, car service. Time allowance, summary.

The aim of the subject is to introduce software products useable in road transportation technology and control.
After passing the subject, the student is able to orientate in problem of software products and PC support and use it for optimization of road transport technology and control.
