Course content
Meaning of intermodal transport. Development of intermodal transport, operators, transport companies. Support of intermodal transport in the field of legislation. International and intrastate legal norms valid for intermodal transport. General terminology in the field of intermodal transport. Division of combined transport. Technical base of intermodal transport. Systems of intermodal transport. Technology of intermodal transport. Technology of terminal. Technology of service in attraction area of terminal. Capacity of terminal. System of train connections in intermodal transport. Economical evaluation of intermodal transport. Transportation and tariff conditions of intermodal transport. New trends in intermodal transport. Intermodal transport in European context. Time reserve, summary of the subject matter.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to inform students about separate systems of intermodal transport.
Student is able to characterize separate systems of intermodal transport after absolving of the subject.
Prerequisites
It is expected routine mastering of individual systems in intermodal transport and their use in the transport of goods.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

For students of the full-time study participation in an examination is conditioned by obtaining a course credit. The obtained course credit confirms that the full-time student attended the lessons in the required amount, that he/she met the requirements for acquiring the course credit and may proceed to take the examination. Conditions for acquiring the course credit are stipulated by the teacher during the first week of the semester lecture period. The examination in the subject (its form, content and duration) is determined in compliance with the Study and Examination Regulations of the University of Pardubice.
