Course content
The general concept of logistics and transport technologies. Logistics chain, material flow control, management of physical distribution. Logistics technology used for transport. The significance of the packaging, labeling, detection weights, handling of logistics management. Logistic requirements for transport equipment. Assessment of technical data transport equipment, infrastructure, transportation hubs with a view to optimizing transport chains. Detailed transport technology, rail and road traffic in terms of logistics. Detailed transport technology, water and air transport in terms of logistics. Modeling logistic transport chains (distribution models). The role and importance of logistic centers on the transport network. Types of warehouses and their importance in logistic centers, inventory management with regard to customer and shipping requirements. Effective management of supply chains using information technology, automatic identification, electronic transmission of information and the like. Use of mathematical methods and operations research for transport and logistics technologies.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to inform students about progressive techniques for controlling and optimizing of logistical chains.
Student is able to characterize various logistical and transport techniques and student is well informed about possibilities of applications of logistical techniques after absolving of the subject. Student is able to apply selected mathematical methods by solving of flows in logistical chains.
