Course content
High-speed railways - introduction, history. High-speed railways - legislation, traffic. High-speed railways and high-speed trains. High-speed railways - practical examples. Terminals - characteristics, division, bus-terminals, urban public transport terminals. Passenger railway transport terminals - division, structure. Passenger railway transport terminals - buildings, siding stations. Unconventional transport systems - characteristics, history, division. Unconventional transport systems - practical examples. Passenger service system - characteristics, examples. Future of foot and cycle transport. Future of individual car transport, stationary traffic, passenger water transport. Future of air transport, high-speed tracks.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce specific passenger transport systems, their characteristics and practical usage.
After passing the subject, the student is able to orientate in problem of progressive passenger service systems and is able to apply them into practice.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

For students of the full-time study participation in an examination is conditioned by obtaining a course credit. The obtained course credit confirms that the full-time student attended the lessons in the required amount, that he/she met the requirements for acquiring the course credit and may proceed to take the examination. Conditions for acquiring the course credit are stipulated by the teacher during the first week of the semester lecture period. The examination in the subject (its form, content and duration) is determined in compliance with the Study and Examination Regulations of the University of Pardubice.
