Course content
Introduction to the study of transport, basic terms, position in society. Transport legislative, transport and its status. Transport process, transportation output and structure, aggregated indicators. Railway transport I. - introduction, characteristic, technical base. Train schedule (timetable graphic) - characteristic, construction. Railway transport II. - technology, information systems. Road transport I. - introduction, characteristic, technical base. Road transport II. - technology, information systems. Water transport - introduction, characteristic, technical base, technology. Air transport - introduction, characteristic, technical base, technology. Combined transport - introduction, characteristic, technical base, technology. City public transport - introduction, characteristic, technical base, technology. Logistic technologies - transport-logistic centres. Spare time, subject summary.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with basics of particular kinds of transport, their technologies and processes of operating.
After passing, student is able to characterise particular kind of transport, describe their technology, advantages, disadvantages. He is known with fundamental processes of operating of transport.
Prerequisites
It is expected routine mastery of individual modes of transport, their technology and control process.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

For students of the full-time study participation in an examination is conditioned by obtaining a course credit. The obtained course credit confirms that the full-time student attended the lessons in the required amount, that he/she met the requirements for acquiring the course credit and may proceed to take the examination. Conditions for acquiring the course credit are stipulated by the teacher during the first week of the semester lecture period. The examination in the subject (its form, content and duration) is determined in compliance with the Study and Examination Regulations of the University of Pardubice.
