Course content
1. Basic work in CAD systems I. 2. Basic work in CAD systems II. 3. CAD tools for parking lots design. 4. Introduction to geographic information systems. 5. Basic principles of visualization of spatial data I. 6. Basic principles of visualization of spatial data II. 7. Selection methods for features in spatial data. 8. Creation and editing of spatial data. 9. Analyse of spatial data. 10. Work with geodatabase. 11. Rules for cartographic outputs design. 12. Data preparation for transport network design. 13. Task solving on transport networks.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Contact teaching - 13 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with software tools, which are used for design of parking lots (CAD), for visualization of transport data and for solving of selected tasks on transport networks (ArcGIS).
Creating proposals for solutions for traffic at rest using AutoCAD, analysis and visualization of data using GIS, solving traffic tasks using GIS.
Prerequisites
Basic PC control, knowledge of the creation of line traffic graphs, basic knowledge of graph theory and solving problems on transport networks.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

For students of the full-time study participation in an examination is conditioned by obtaining a course credit. The obtained course credit confirms that the full-time student attended the lessons in the required amount, that he/she met the requirements for acquiring the course credit and may proceed to take the examination. Conditions for acquiring the course credit are stipulated by the teacher during the first week of the semester lecture period. The examination in the subject (its form, content and duration) is determined in compliance with the Study and Examination Regulations of the University of Pardubice.
