Course content
|
1. Traffic demand and transport relations in passenger transport (integrated transport systems, national long distance lines, international lines). 2. Medical and professional competence for the operation of the railway and operation of rail transport. 3. Eligibility and driving conditions on the national and regional railways. 4. Railway means and specified technical equipments. 5. Crossing of the rail, technical safety tests. 6. Conditions for access for the railway market abroad. 7. Control of the railway traffic according to the regulation SŽDC D1, D3, D4. 8. Control of the railway traffic according to the regulation SŽDC D3, D4. 9. Signals on the railway lines and for shunting. 10. Running of the vehicles and rosters of the train staff. 11. Transport costs on the national longhaul line. 12. Brakes and braking. 13. Excursion.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the demands on staff (professional competence), with the principles of railway traffic management, including determination of costs for the operation of a long-distance railway line.
At the end of the course, the student is able to orientate himself in the issue of rail transport management independently and knows the basic principles of economic calculation of the railway line.

Prerequisites
|
Prerequisite for successful completion of the course is the completion of the course XBPD1, in which students get acquainted with the basic principles of organizing rail transport.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written examination
The condition for participation in the exam is for students of the full-time form of study to obtain a credit. The credit confirms that the student participated at the lectures and seminars and met the requirements (prepared exercises, presented paper), which were conditional on the granting of credit, and can proceed to passing the exam. The conditions for granting the credit are determined by the teacher in the first week of the lecture period of the semester. The subject exam (written) for full-time and part-time form of study is determined in accordance with the UP Study and Examination Regulations.
