Course content
Specification of logistical processes in transport. Principles of projecting of logistic processes. Systems for support of decision making in logistics - Queuing theory, Renewal theory, Inventory management, optimal offering quantity, continuous and discontinuous demand. Sourcing models. Intermodal transport in logistical systems - Development and modernization of container terminals in the Czech Republic, New systems of container trans, Terminal technologies, measuring of terminal's capacity, New systems of accompanied and unaccompanied intermodal transport. Location of logistical centres - Planning of public LC, location models, optimization of LC positions, Forms and organization models of LC, Technical and technological conception of LC, transloading and warehousing systems, additional systems. Multimodal logistical centres. Handling units - Theory of handling units creation, Dynamic forces that affect manipulation units. E-logistics, meaning of the electronic data interchange - EDI, EAN and RFID. Reengineering as a radical change in logistical processes. Logistical principles in passenger transport - Progressive transport systems in relation to city and regional service. Principles of processional management, application in logistics. Time reserve, summary of the subject matter.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to inform students especially about the modern logistical systems and about the progressive logistical techniques applied in transport systems and telecommunications, optimizing included.
Student is able to utilize of knowledge from the subject in dissertation work.
