Course content
The subject of psychology and the most general psychological concepts. Overview of the main groups of psychological phenomena: mental processes - memory, thinking and speech, motivational processes; mental states - attention, emotional states; specifically acquired dispositions - knowledge, skills, habits; personality traits - abilities, personality traits, temperament, character. Personality development and formation - basic concepts and laws, formation of motives, Learning - types, laws. Acquisition of knowledge - learning in a spiral, forgetting and repetition. Acquisition of intellectual skills

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities, Skills training
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students of the Bachelor's Degree Programme in English Language (Specialization English Language for Education) with a basic orientation in psychological concepts and phenomena.
Students will acquire basic information about the main psychological concepts, groups of psychological phenomena (psychological processes, psychological states, personality characteristics; specifically acquired dispositions) and theories with regard to the future professional training of teachers.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Credit will be based on - having at least 80% attendance at lseminars - Lectures are recommended. - self-study according to the required and recommended literature Final attestation: WRITTEN TEST according to the course content and according to the prescribed and recommended literature. In case of distance learning, the course will be delivered on MS Teams. Final attestation: written test (Moodle) on the course content and on the required and recommended literature.
