Course content
Special pedagogy, its focus and relation to other disciplines. The branches of special pedagogy. Historical development of special pedagogy. The system of care of a handicapped individual. Psychopedia. Somatopedia Speech therapy. Tyflopedia s Surdopedia. Etopedie. Specific developmental and behavior disorders.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama), Řízená praxe

Learning outcomes
The course builds on the students´ knowledge gained in the courses of pedagogy and psychology that were mastered during the previous study. The attention will be paid to the special pedagogy and its position within other pedagogical disciplines, to the formation of special pedagogy and to the themes connected with handicapped individuals and majority society. The focus will be also on the practical use of the approaches to special pedagogy in pedagogical career.
The students will enhance their knowledge in the field of special pedagogy and are eligible to apply the knowledge both in theory and in practice

The Student has the prerequisites for the orientation in the issue according to the content of the course.

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Discussion, Student portfolio analysis

Participation in exercises. Development of the portfolio according to a given specification. Self-study according to compulsory and recommended literature
