Course content
The subject of psychology and the most general psychological terms. The main groups of psychic phenomena: psychic processes - memory, thinking, and speech; motivational processes; psychic states - attention, emotional states; specifically acquired dispositions - knowledge, skills, habits; qualities of an individuality - abilities, characteristic features, temperament, character. The development and formation of individuality - basic terms and principles, the formation of motives, the formation of an individuality in difficult life situations. Learning - types, principles. Knowledge acquisition - learning in a spiral; forgetting and revising. Intellect skill acquisition - problem solving, the developmental stages of problem solving (Piaget), creative problem solving - creativity. Education and self-education - educational requirements; reward and punishment. Formative leverage of activities - games, learning and working activities, activities in free time. Forming the moral aspects of individuality - character and conscience, changes of individuality.

Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to introduce to students of humanities the basic psychological terms and phenomena.
The students will gain the knowledge of the main units of psychological phenomena (psychic processes, states, qualities of an individuality, and specifically acquired dispositions), taking into the account the future profession of the students.

Written examination, Didactic test, Presentation

Credit will be based on having at least 80% attendance at lectures and seminars; a written final test self-study according to a list of obligatory and recommended literature.
