Types of corrosion and atmospheric factors, division of corrosive and atmospheric tests, sources of doses of artificial corrosion agents in accelerated corrosion tests (radiation, humidity, corrosion factors, temperature, chemical substances). Chemical resistance of paint matters, methods, evaluation of properties, resistance against liquids, specific solutions and agents, evaluation methods. Specific corrosion tests, filiform corrosion, spot corrosion, evaluation of conversion coats. Testing of medical raw materials. Procedures in evaluation and testing of paint matters. Thermal analysis method used for evaluation of paint matters and organic coats. Magnetic methods in the area of organic coats. Analysis of surface of polymeric substances and coats - study of the surface of liquid stage. surface energy, phenomena on the liquid-solid substance interface.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
The subject links to theoretical knowledge of the chemistry of film-forming matters. It thoroughly describes the methods of characterizing of corrosion attack of materials, methods of measuring of physical and chemical properties of organic coats. It deals with diffusion procedures of liquids with organic coats and their chemical resistance in various agents. Integral part consists in characteristics and methodology of testing of raw materials for paint matters and organic coats. Aim of the subject is to acquaint student with organic coatings characteristic and properties evaluation and, as well as with raw-materials for their production.
Graduate is able to evaluate organic coat properties qualitative evaluation after graduation from this subject. Also he/she is able to choose optimal methodology for organic coatings examination.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of analytic, organic and macromolecular chemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

There is an oral examination. Primary form of exam is the debate about selected themes. Level of acquired knowledge, conceptions and application acquirements is examined. Knowledge is examined by test during semester and its result is included into total classification.
