Course content
Optics from from electromagnetic waves up to geometric optics. Some phenomena beyond the geometric approximation. Interference and diffraction. Essentials of modern physics. Dualism of waves and particles. Photoelectric effect. X-ray radiation. Lasers. Essentials of structure analysis. Essentials of the special relativity theory. Essentials and simple applications of quantum mechanics. Essentials of nuclear physics and energetics. Topics selectable by the students: Essentials of plasma physics...

Learning outcomes
This course follows the course FII which broadens the basic FI course. It deals with some more advanced topics of physic
The students learn deeper physical thinking. They will learn to understand the meaning of more advanced physical quantities including the feeling for their quantitative properties. They will also learn to solve more advanced problems.
Prerequisites
Course FII (exceptionally FI) comleted by an examination. Deeper interest in physics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Oral exam. One written exam during the therm the result of which builds up 30% of the final result.
