Course content
|
1st Week: Systems standards (ISO, EN, ISO), ISO 9000 and 14000, standardization. 2nd and 3rd Week: Testing paper. Methods for determining the drainage properties of pulp. Sizing fibers. Determination of concentration, dry matter and composition paper 4th Week: Testing of paper and cardboard. Terms of testing, air-conditioning systems, sampling. Determination of the basic properties of the samples. 5 to 7 Week: Determination of physical properties. Paper, the permeability for water, water vapor, air, gases and greases. Determination of smoothness of paper, the determination of dimensional stability of paper. 8 to Week 10: Determination of the mechanical (strength) properties. Tensile strength, Bursting, tear, creasing, fracture, buckling. 11 and Week 12: Determination of optical properties. White, color, opacity, gloss vista, formation. Week 13: Determination of chemical properties of paper, standards for food packaging. 14th Week: Determination of functional properties.

Aim is to create a basic idea of the testing materials and other cellulose-based paper-making materials, raw materials and products based on cellulose.

Prerequisites

A prerequisite for this course is completion of the basic course of mathematics, organic and inorganic chemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination
Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics and physical chemistry. Fundamentals of English. The course will take place according to individual themes and interactive with students and will conclude with a test.
