Course content
|
Pulp screening using pressure screen and centricleaner. Paper production on laboratory paper machine or /and/ laboratory paperboard machine. Optical properties of paper. Mechanical paper properties influences upon beating time of pulp /beating degree/. Printer and writing papers and its properties (ink absorption, surface strength, dusting of paper). Paper formation and structure. Stiffness of paperboard and moulded fibres products.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is designed as a laboratory practice. Students absolve individual practical exercises predominantly on pilot equipments such as laboratory beaters, laboratory paper and board machines, semi-industrials scale screening devices and so on.
Subject is conceived as a laboratory and serves to knowledge acquisition and practice on pilot equipments. Student is able at the end of this final laboratory course to self-dependent work on diploma thesis.

Condition is the completion of the course - Discipline Laboratory I.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Home assignment evaluation
Student submits reports on the tasks. The final evaluation takes into account the supplied protocols, their debate and the overall work in the laboratory. It investigated degree of acquired knowledge and practical skills.
