Course content
The evaluation of colorfastness (fastness to daylight, f. to perspiration, f. to washing, f. to bleaching). The determination of exhaustion curve of direct dye on cotton yarn. The identification of textile dyestuffs class (acid, direct, reactive, vat, disperse dyes). The evaluation of surfactants (tenside) characteristics (anionic, cationic, nonionic surfactants, wetting ability, surface tension). The determination of laundry properties of detergents. Durable press testing (wrinkling and shrinking during laundering - determination of recovery angle). Determination of formaldehyde contents in cotton fabrics after durable presses finishing. Flame retardancy testing. Soil release and repellency testing (water and oil repellency testing). Antibacterial and antifugal testing. Textile fibers identification. Mechanical properties of fibers, yarns and fabrics from textile fibers.

Learning outcomes
In laboratories students aquire practical skills in textile pre-treatment, dyeing and treatment include testing of textiles (colouration, textile treatment).
Students can be work in research and produsers of fibre-forming materials, in theri treatment and testing.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of organic and macromolecular chemistry, basic knowledge of colloristic. Basic skill in colloristic laboratory.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

Oral exam and test. The debate over selected lines is basic part of exam. Student exhibit the rate of acquired knowledge.
