Introduction into macromolecular chemistry Applied macromolecular chemistry in medicinal fields; basic terms and their classification Structure and properties of polymer materials with regard to toxicology Basic types of polymers for medicinal applications Composite materials in medicine Polymers for extracorporeal applications Polymers for the preparation of replacement body parts Textile materials in medicine Polymers as medication carriers Special applications of polymers in medicinal fields Progress (new trends) in macromolecular chemistry for medicinal applications

Learning outcomes
This subject introduces students into the structure and properties of polymer substances used in medicine. The structure of the subject is divided into blocks according to the use polymers in the individual branches of medicine, see the lecture schedule.
Graduate is well versed in the area of polymeric materials used for medicinal applications.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of organic chemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Oral exam. The debate over selected lines is basic part of exam. Student exhibit the rate of acquired knowledge.
