Learning activities and teaching methods |
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing) |
Learning outcomes |
The subject acquaints the students with issues regarding surface treatment of metallic and non-metallic materials. Guides for protective coatings design and production are listed. An excursion to the manufacturing plants dealing with coating compositions production or their applications is organized during the semester. There is a focus on ecological solutions of surface treatments. Aim of the subject is to acquaint the students with corroding process mechanisms and possibilities of material corrosion protection. Special attention is dedicated to atmospheric corrosion and metallic materials protection by means of coating.
Graduate is well versed in the branch of corrosion and materials protection after the graduation. He/she is qualified to make decisions about choice of appropriate corrosion protection against atmospheric corrosion. |
Prerequisites |
Basic knowledge of inorganic and organic chemistry.
|
Assessment methods and criteria |
Oral examination, Written examination
There is an oral examination. Primary form of exam is the debate about selected themes. Level of acquired knowledge, conceptions and application acquirements is examined. Knowledge is examined by test during semester and its result is included into total classification. |
