Course content
Content of the subject is morphology wood and wood-pulp. Is Construction of vegetable cell, macrostructure and microstructure of wood. Wood defects, physical and mechanic properties of wood. Structure of cell wall, creation micro fibril and fibril. Characteristic leafy and coniferous wood. Chemist wood and analysis of wood. Cellulose structure and characteristics. Hemicelluloses, structure and characteristics. Lignin, structure and characteristics. 1st week: Morphology of wood and cellulose. 2nd week: Plant cell structure, macrostructure and microstructure of wood. Week 3: Wood defects, physical and mechanical properties of wood. 4th week: Cell wall structure, formation of microfibrils and fibrils. Week 5: Characteristic features of hardwood and softwood. Week 6: Chemical composition of wood and wood analysis. Weeks 7 and 8: Cellulose, its structure and properties. Week 9: Hemicelluloses, structure and properties. Weeks 10 and 11: Lignin, structure and properties. 12th week: Accompanying substances. Extractives. 13th week: Reaction of individual wood components

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is giving the basic information about morphology and chemistry of wood. Information about types of wood cells ant their function. Basic facts about procedures of chemistry processing of wood. Wood analysis.
Graduate obtain detail knowledge about morphology wood and cellulose. Graduate obtain detail knowledge about chemical structure of wood and analyses.
Prerequisites
The subject builds on knowledge of organic and macromolecular chemistry. It introduces students to the basics of morphology, with a focus on the properties and structure of wood cells and the use of wood material not only for paper processing.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation

Basic forms of examination is debate above choice circuits, verification of adoption of knowledge, conception and understanding single capitol of subject. At the end of lecture period is test whose result is include to the general classification.
