Course content
|
Air and pollution. Polluting substances and their impacts. Air protection legislation. Particle air pollutants ? physical features and technical principles used for separation. Characterization of separation action. Determination of dispersive composition of particle mixtures ? different device equipment, action principles. Dry mechanical powder separators ? construction, description of action, designing. Liquid separators ? types, construction, description of action, designing. Fabric filters and electrostatic precipitator systems - types, construction, description of action, designing. Restraint of sulphur oxides emissions. Restraint of nitrogen oxides emissions. Restraint of fluor emissions. Restraint of organic substances emissions. Adsorption - equilibrium, basic principles, discontinuous methods of gases and liquids adsorption; theoretic and empiric approaches.

The aim of this subject is to inform students about processes of air protection and fundamental legislative.
The student is able to orientate in the problems associated with air protection.

Oral examination. Basic form of examination is discussion concerning several areas of the subject matter.
