Course content
Week 1: Introduction to environmental legislation and sustainable technologies, generally binding regulations, departmental organizations of the Ministry of the Environment and other organizations of the state environmental administration. Week 2: Environmental Law in relation to sustainable technologies. Week 3: European legislation and its consequences for the Czech Republic - REACH. Week 4: European legislation and its consequences for the Czech Republic - ADR. Week 5: Legal framework for GMO management and protection of the rock environment. Week 6: Environmental damage, major accidents, emergency planning. Week 7: Influence of the Building Act on the establishment of new technologies, EIA and IPPC process. Week 8: Legal framework of nature and landscape protection. Week 9: Legal framework of air protection. Week 10: Legal framework of forestry and protection of agricultural land resources. Week 11: Legal framework of water protection. Week 12: Legal framework of waste management. Week 13: Upcoming legislation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to create a basic idea of the legal regulation of individual components of the environment,. legislation on sustainable technologies and the organization of state administration in the field of the environment.
After completing the course, the student is able to orientate in the issues of legal regulation of individual components of the environment and sustainable technologies and in the organization of state administration in the environmental protection. Basic legal service in the field of environment is provided for further activities of the graduate.
