Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Projection
  • Participation in classes - 26 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the lectures is to explain the students the issue of the interaction of a toxic substances with an organism, with the general mechanisms of a toxic effect at the biochemical, organ and systemic level, as well as with the effects of selected groups of natural toxins and pharmaceuticals.
After completing the course, the student is oriented in the principles of general toxicology with an emphasis on the biochemical mechanisms of action of selected groups of substances, understands the relationship between the dose and response of substances, the relationship between the pharmacological and toxic effects of substances, and is oriented in the basic methods toxikological methodology
Prerequisites
Basic subject - there are not supposed any special skills or knowledge, only general competence of high school absolvent

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Didactic test
