Course content
Laboratory safety, first aid. Secondary chemical literature (tables, encyclopedia, chemical databases). Preparation of 4-nitroaniline. Aromatic nitration. Thin layer chromatography. Aromatic nucleophilic substitution. Preparation of picrylchloride and bis(2,4,6-trinitrofenyl)pyridin-2,6-diamine. Differential thermal analysis. Preparation of ethylenedinitramine. Primary nitramines. Liquid chromatography. Infrared and Raman spectroscopy. Colour reaction for identification of energetic materials. Secondary chemical literature, searching of procedure for the compound. Preparation and identification of prepared compound

To introduce safety precautions during the work with energetic materials. To introduce main reactions used in the synthesis of energetic materials. To introduce methods for identification of prepared compounds.
Individual search of information about synthesis, selection of suitable method and safe preparation of the compound. To choose suitable method for the identification of the compound.
