Course content
|
Every student is guided in this subject by a mentor. Task of mentor is to select for student in accordance with his/her focus from the following list a set of laboratory tasks. Student will perform the tasks. Mentor will supervise him/her. Student makes protocols and comprehends his/her experience from tasks into a written text, which he will present and defend in discussion with teachers. 1. Risk analysis procedure application to an object where explosives are handled. 2. Advanced FTIR and Raman spectroscopy. 3. Determination of density. 4. UV/VIS spectroscopy. 5. Preparation of primary explosives. 6. Use of laboratory reactor. 7. Innovation of the technology of HMX production. 8. Study of relationship between performance of energetic materials and initiation reactivity. 9. Visualization, speed cameras. 10. Velocity measurement using PDV. 11. Pressure measurement using manganin sensors. 12. Measurement of detonation (CJ) pressure. 13. Explosive forming, explosion welding. 14. Assessment of detonator performance. 15. Determination of shock sensitivity, gap test. 16. Use and comparison of statistical methods for sensitivity testing. 17. Numerical simulation (LS-DYNA) of detonation and its impact on the surroundings. 18. The use of thermal analysis to characterize energetic materials. 19. Combustion calorimetry.
