Course content
The essence and functions of regional economics. The main theoretical trends in regional economics. Supply and demand in the spatial analysis. Analysis of the regional economic structure. The concept of local development in its economic interpretation. Location analysis and its theoretical foundations. Economic context of migration. Regional policy. Economic context of urban planning, urbanization and urbanism.

Learning outcomes
The main aim of the course is to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field of economics, which is applied, examined and interpreted only in a certain defined territory - space. Basic economics knowledge, regional development and public administration theory are used for this purpose.
Student will able to understand economic context in the spatial arrangement. Student will comprehend spatial economics and its development in economic theories. Student will get overview of regional policy and economic development and will able to apply theoretical knowledge to practical level.
Prerequisites
Basic economics knowledge - Microeconomics and Macroeconomics at bachelor degree, refers to courses Macroeconomics 1 (AMAK1) and Microeconomics 1 (AMIK1) at University of Pardubice.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment

Attendance at seminars; Completion of the seminar paper and its acceptance Presentation of the seminary work Activity at seminars Successful passing of final written test at least 60% of total points.
