Course content
Public Economy I. overview Public sector and public power Public projects and their role in public sector Economical analysis of the public projects State aid and its characteristics Entrepreneur sector in national ekonomy State aid for SM entrepreneurs Public policy of after-care about investors Regional development and its support in Czech Rep. Regional policy and its tools State aid of knowledge transfer in regions (creative economy) Industrical clusters Regional innovation systems

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen theoretical knowledge of public economics and extend students' practical knowledge and experience related to public economics.
Students will be able to solve partial issues of the public economics, they will understand causes and effects of the particular processes, furthermore, they will know how to choose and apply adequate methods in solving selected issues and how to justify these methods in the discussion.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of public economics in the range of bachelor studies, therefore, understanding of the reasons for public sector existence, knowledge of basic principles of public sector operation, public choice theory are expected.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment

The assignment is granted upon completion and acceptation of the seminar paper. The compensatory assignment is granted upon acceptation of seminar work made from only english written literature. The examination is oral, respectively written.
