Course content
1. Introduction to theory of public services economy 2. Development of public services theories 3. Objectives and analysis methods in public services economy 4. Categorization of public services 5. Macroeconomic overview of public services 6. International overview of public services 7. Institutional aspects of public services providing 8. New trends in public services providing 9. Financing of public services providing 10. Performance measurement in public services providing 11. Standardization of public services 12. Public services and their relations to human potential

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
The aim is to deepen the theoretical knowledge of the specific field in public economics - i.e. providing of the services with the collective consumption. The expanding of the practical skills and gaining of the experience from providing of public services and their financing falling also to the aim of this subject.
Students will be able to solve partial issues of the public services´ economics, they will understand causes and effects of the particular processes, furthermore, they will know how to choose and apply adequate methods in solving selected issues and how to justify these methods in the discussion.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of public economics in the range of bachelor studies, therefore, understanding of the reasons for public sector existence, knowledge of basic principles of public sector operation, public choice theory are expected.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment

The assignment is granted upon - attendance at seminars - completion of given presentations - assignment test (better result than 60 %) Extra assignment is granted upon seminar work from english written books acceptation. The examination is oral, eventually written.
