Course content
1. Theoretical definition of economic policy. 2. Coordination of economy and economic-political concept. 3. Policy competition. 4. Social policy. Redistributive policy. 5. Structural policy. Regional policy. 6. Stabilization policy. 7. External economic policy. 8. Economic integration. 9. Economic and monetary policy of the European Union. 10. Development of practical economic policy - the main approaches of interventionist and neoconservative economic policy. 11. Process of transformation of centrally planned economies.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide the basic knowledge about theory and practice of economic policy. The course gives basic information for better orientation in the issue which is connected with position and active role of state in the market economy. The situation will be analysed in macroeconomic and microeconomic aspects.
Students will be able to use the acquired theoretical knowledge from this course for economic reality and they will be able to apply them into economic theory and also for detailed analysis the continuing courses.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite of passing of the subject is knowledge of general economics in the range of the basic course (courses Microeconomics I and Macroeconomics I).

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

The assignment will be awarded based on attendance in seminars and based on processing, presentation and acceptance of essay. The exam will be awarded based on written test (for ordinary and the first resit term) or based on oral examination (for the second resit term of the exam).
