Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Demonstration, Skills training, Laboratory work
Learning outcomes
The course develops knowledge and practical skills of organic syntheses from previous laboratory courses with the use of more sophisticated laboratory techniques (vacuum distillation, heterogeneous reaction, handling Pt catalyst etc.). The course involves more complex multistep syntheses and verification of structure (and purity) of product by means of separation and spectral methods such as HPLC, elemental analysis, NMR, IR.
The students will obtain the new knowledge of laboratory techniques especially from organic synthesis.
Prerequisites
The students should be able to do basic laboratory techniques independently for passing of the course unit

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Work-related product analysis, Creative work analysis
