Course content
|
Function of quality in contemporary management. Concept and principles of management based on ISO standards and TQM approaches. Assurance of quality according to quality standards ISO 9000+. Methods of implementation of quality management system. Elements of system quality assurance belonging to management, management responsibility, aims and principles of quality system. Structure of quality costs and its detection and use in quality management system. Quality assurance and planning in pre-production phases. Quality assurance of deliveries and selection of qualified suppliers. Quality assurance in production, checking of quality production processes and equipment. Quality and inventory control, quality and warehousing, material manipulation, packing and dispatching of products. Quality audits, internal procedural and system audit, audit of a supplier. TQM conception, techniques of TQM implementation. Ecologic quality conception, FMEA, FTA, DOE and QFD methods.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide information, understand the principles and systems of quality management.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: - explain the basic concepts of quality management, - characterize approaches to quality management in its implementation, - explain current approaches to quality management, - characterize the different methods and their implementation in quality management. The student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: - orient themselves in the principles and systems of quality management, - apply basic tools and methods of quality management, - analyse the current situation in the organisation and make decisions in the implementation of quality management. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: - make independent decisions in quality management in small work teams, - communicate clearly and persuasively to professionals and laypersons information about the nature of professional problems and their own views on their solution.

Knowledge of management at bachelor's level is assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation
Seminar credits are awarded on the basis of an assessment of the assigned work. The course is completed by an oral examination.
