Course content
Basic innovation theory. Creative process and creativity in the team. Determinants of organizational creativity and innovation. Classification of innovation, sources of innovation. Elements of the innovation process. Basic innovation strategy. Rules for effective implementation of innovations and evaluation of innovation effects. Value management and its application in practice. Innovation Trends in Business - Industry 4.0, Innovation Networks.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to teach students to develop creative thinking, to actively seek innovation opportunities and to apply selected tools for effective implementation of innovations.
A student who has successfully completed the course knows how to: identify common and differing elements of basic innovation theories; explain the essence of creative managerial thinking, describe the characteristics of a creative personality, and identify principles that foster creativity in teams; characterise the typical features of innovative organisations, including the specific aspects of organisational culture focused on creativity and innovation; define different types of innovation and innovation strategies, and describe the stages of the creative and innovation process; explain the essence of value management and distinguish between application disciplines that can be used to solve various kinds and types of innovation tasks; characterise current innovation trends and innovation activities in enterprises. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: apply methods that support team creativity; analyse sources of innovation opportunities and apply selected methods and tools for developing business innovations; evaluate the level of the innovation process, including the measurement and assessment of specific innovations. A student who has successfully completed the course is capable of: critically evaluating the current state of creativity and innovation management in an enterprise; developing and improving a work environment that contributes to enhancing creativity and innovation.
