Course content
Definition of key concepts: corporate culture and its objectives, corporate identity, and corporate integrity. Elements, sources, structure, content, and strength of corporate culture. Typology of corporate culture. Development and change of corporate culture: diagnosis and analysis of corporate culture. Corporate culture and strategy: strategic management and its importance in an organisation; the influence of culture on strategy and of strategy on corporate culture. Corporate culture as a people-management tool: motivation and engagement. Corporate culture and performance: the impact of the content and strength of corporate culture on performance. Corporate culture and responsible management: the role of business ethics and innovation in corporate culture; ways to build a company's good reputation. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its relationship to corporate culture: CSR principles, pillars, and methods. Benefits and importance of applying CSR in practice.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to help students understand the importance of corporate culture for business operations and management, employee motivation and engagement, and overall performance.
A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: characterise key concepts in the field of corporate culture; explain the importance of employee motivation for a positive corporate culture; identify the responsibilities and opportunities of managers in shaping corporate culture; explain the importance of formulating codes of ethics and the challenges of implementing them; describe the benefits and importance of ethical business management and introducing CSR; explain the relationship between corporate culture and responsible management. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: analyse and diagnose an organisation's culture in terms of its type; identify factors that can be used to develop corporate culture positively. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: consider the role of an inappropriate corporate culture in the emergence of problems when solving them; communicate, clearly and persuasively, information about the nature of professional issues and their own proposed solutions to both specialists and non-specialists.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of managerial ethics and management is assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment

Course credit: completion of a team semester project on an assigned topic. Examination: an oral assessment of acquired knowledge.
