Course content
Information in decision making, transparency. Decision-making process. Individual decision-making style. Group decision making and negotiation practice. Strategic decision making. Marketing decision making. Pricing. Quality and control decision making. Decision making errors. Decision making and ethics. Description of phenomena and objects, utility. One-criterion decision making. Multicriterial assurance. Additive, aspiration and lexicographic methods. Decision making under uncertainty. Application of game theory and graphs - overview. Dependence of variables in decision making. Indexes.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 28 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of managerial decision-making, the principles of decision-making support and supporting methods.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: describe the basic concepts of decision-making issues and stages of the decision-making process; characterize the role of information in decision-making and explain the importance of transparency in decision-making processes; describe individual decision-making styles and assess the positives and negatives of individual decision-making styles; explain the basic decision-making issues associated with decision-making in marketing and in quality management; characterize the basic errors that weigh on the decision-making process. A student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: apply individual decision-making methods to a decision-making problem; assess the suitability of individual methods for a specific case; understandably interpret the strengths and weaknesses associated with the public election process. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: discuss the role of ethics in decision-making processes; evaluate the appropriateness of choosing a specific supporting decision-making method for a decision-making problem; present the results of your decision, including a comment on the choice of a particular method and its strengths and weaknesses.

Credit: completion of required attendance and assigned tasks. Exam: written or oral with the condition of obtaining credit beforehand.
