Course content
World economy and globalization. Economics of the EU. Economics and economic policy of the Czech Republic. Tax problem. Finance, system of banking and insurance. Economics of public sector, social sphere. Power engineering, ecology, education, science and engineering. Company economics, finance and accounting.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Methods of individual activities
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with basic knowledge of contemporary economic situation in selected areas, understand economic issues in context, sequence and interconnection between theory and practice, acquaint the students with the knowledge of recent economic data and its development and provide the students with the possibility to discuss actively economic issues and understand it well. Furthermore, the aim is to complete and extend the knowledge needed for the State Final Examination passing in the follow-up Master study. The seminar is focused on a wide spectrum of economic problems. Actual world economy issues as well as the EU economics and the Czech Republic economic policy are presented. Furthermore, students are introduced to significant Czech economic fields such as finance, public administration, social sphere, power engineering, education, science and research. The course also includes problems of company economics. If follows up with the State Final Examination in Finance and Management of Public Sector.
Students will be able to understand the economic issues in the context and continuity. They understand the interconnection of economic theory and practice. They will be well oriented in the current economic situation and will be able to lead dialogue.

Written examination

The assignment is granted upon passing the written test including questions on lectured topics.
