Course content
Function and classification of capital markets, czech capital market. Structure of capital market, activity of market subjects. Indicators designed for evaluation of capital market status and development, stock exchange indices. Regulation of capital markets, state supervision. Stocks and bonds and investment instruments, registered stocks and bonds. Dealing with stocks and bonds, regulated and unregulated markets. Stock exchange and operations in stocks. Stocks, stocks issue, special operations with stocks. Bonds, special types of bonds. Financial derivatives, futures and forward contracts. Option and swap contracts. Allotment certificates, its sale and repurchase.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the knowledge of function, structure, functioning and regulation of capital markets as well as with the activity of the subjects practising in capital markets. Furthermore, the aim is to master the principles of dealing with stocks and bonds and provide the students with basic knowledge of stocks, bonds, allotment certificates and financial derivatives. The course acquaints the students with summary knowledge of capital markets and investment instruments, it includes the problem of dealing with stocks and bonds, stock exchange activity and operations in stocks. It deals, further, with investment stocks and bonds (stocks, bonds), allotment certificates and financial derivatives.
A student will be able to understand the functioning of capital market and stock exchange principles within securities transactions. The student handles conditions and the specific issue of the securities. He will be able to make use of investment instruments in the economic practice.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

The assignment is granted upon attendance at seminars. The examination is written and comprises of 12 questions. The time for completion is 80 minutes.
