Theories of regional development, its origin and development. Main economic theories and its influence on regional development theories. Neoclassical and neo-liberal regional development theories. Structuralistic approaches. Critical realistic approaches. Institutional directions. Contemporary regional policy period.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to present theoretical approaches in regional development. The understanding of the historical evolution can help to better understand conterporary regional policy.
Student is able to identify basic hisotrical regional theories. Theoretical basement is the foundation to understand conterporary regional development policy of the EU and of the Czech Republic.
