Course content
Risk - basic concepts. Legal regulations. Utility, human factor, HRA, risk society. Risk Engineering and its tools. Risk management. Quality engineering, defects and faults. The use of mathematics in risk and reliability analysis Identification and classification of risk. Risk decision. Risk quantification. Reliability issue, reliability systems. The system of risk management and its effectiveness. Strategies to avoid risk.

Learning outcomes
In this course of study, students acquire knowledge of risk (principles, connections, etc.), quality and reliability engineering and risk management. Students get skills for using mathematical tools in quantifying and risk analyzing issues. After the course, they will be able to choose and evaluate various risk and reliability parameters, and to choose the appropriate risk management tools.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

Assignment is granted for active participation in class with at least 75% attendance, and making all the tasks that teacher specifies. The examination consists in two parts. The oral exam will follow the successful completion of the written test (i.e. to get at least 60% of the points available).
