Course content
Urbanism - introduction, terms. Settlement structures - organization. Zone structures. Development of towns in the Ancient World. Development of towns in the Middle Ages. Renaissance and baroque towns. Industrial town of the 19th century. Modern towns. Urban composition. Urban theories.

Learning outcomes
The course target is study basic theory of space-organizational settlement aspects, physical essence of the town (structure, composition, function and functioning) and development of the towns from its very beginning till present.
Students will be acquainted with physical essence of the town (structure, composition, function and functioning).

The examination is granted upon completion of the following conditions: attendance at seminars, submission and adjustment of the seminar paper and passing the written test.
