Course content
MS Word as a word processing tool: Basic typographic rules. Reviewing the rules for working with a large document. Working with revisions. Designing and creating a template and form. Mail merge. MS PowerPoint as a presentation tool: Basic rules for creating a presentation. Slide transitions, animations, active links and inserting videos. Designing a presentation with regard to the presentation goal and type of audience. Designing your own template. MS Excel as a data analysis tool: Summary of the basics of working in Excel. Advanced work with selected functions. Pivot table as a decision support tool. Working with data tools and form elements. Simple macros. Designing and creating a form

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to MS Office tools that enable advanced data analysis and subsequent visualization.
A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: respect the rules of typographical rules when creating a document and presentation; explain the appropriateness of using individual elements and colors in a presentation; describe and explain the advantages of working with advanced tools in MS Word; characterize the advantages and describe the creation of a template and form; describe and explain the advantages of working with advanced tools in MS Excel; list and describe the possibility of processing an extensive table; explain what a pivot table is used for; describe the possibilities of editing a graph; explain the use of individual types of functions in advanced data processing; characterize the advantages and describe the creation of a form and working with a simple macro. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: apply typographical rules when processing texts and presentations; justify the appearance of a presentation with regard to the psychological profiling of listeners; orient themselves in the offered MS Word tools; effectively use MS Word to process a final thesis and in practice; design and edit a table and graph in MS Excel; use the offered functions and tools for data analysis; justify the use of simple macros; design, edit and process a form using form elements. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: design the appearance and structure of a document and presentation based on given rules; decide on the suitability of using MS Office tools based on a framework assignment; independently design a data analysis procedure and visualization of outputs; clearly and convincingly communicate information to experts and laypeople about the nature of professional problems and their own opinion on their solution; independently expand their knowledge, skills and competencies in MS Office; clearly summarize the opinions of other team members and implement them in solving a given problem.

Skills in PC, MS Excel and MS Word utilization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

Assignment: processing and positive evaluation of assigned tasks within the given deadlines, including a control test. The control test will take place on a PC at school. More information can be found in the study materials in Moodle.
