Satellite systems Application of RS Pre-processing of image records Highlighting of image records Spatial highlighting Spectral highlighting Classification of the digital image record Recognition of changes on the RS materials New trends in RS a image processing

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Skills training
  • Contact teaching - 52 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 8 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 50 hours per semester
  • Individual project - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the complex regional space analyses using analytical and synthetic functions of geographical information systems.
Students will be familiar with remote sensing and digital image processing. Students will be able to apply selected technology in practice.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of geographic information systems and cartography is expected.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

The assignment is granted upon elaboration of the seminar paper. The examination consists of oral part. The level of knowledge is examined as well as the student ability to apply acquired knowledge on practical problem-solving (i.e. project defense).
