Course content

Space analyses: definitions, history, purposes. Types of methods used. Types of data and their relationship to space analyses. Point data analyses. Line data analyses Polygon data analyses. Raster data analyses. Geostatistical analytical methods.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the complex regional space analyses using analytical and synthetic functions of geographical information systems.
The students will be able to independently complete complex space analyses.

Prerequisites
|
Basic knowledge of GIS and databases. Basic skills at analyses of vector data in ArcGIS.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment
Graded assignment is granted upon successful defence of an independent practical project during which the student shows his/her ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical cases.
