Course content
Policy of economic and social cohesion. Regional development and history of regional policy of the EU. Rules, principles, reasons of existence of regional policy on the EU level. Structural funds, Cohesion fund, EU budget. Aims of Regional Policy, Initiatives, Territorial statistical units NUTS, eligibility. Regional development and EU membership - Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg. Regional development and EU membership - Spain, Portugal, Greece. Regional development and EU membership - Austria, Sweden, Finland. Regional development and EU membership - 10 member states since 2004. Regional development and EU membership - 2 member states since 2007. Practical application of the regional policy of the EU in the Czech Republic, organization, andministrative arrangement. Programming documents, Community support framework, Regional development plan, Operational plans. Regional development and EU membership - Czech republic.

Learning outcomes
The main aim is to acquaint a student with conception Regional policy of the EU, application of regional policy of the EU upon specific euroregions and get familiar with their regional development.
Student will well informed about Regional Policy Applied by European Union. He will understand conception of Policy of economic a social cohesion, Structural Funds, Cohesion Fund, Aims of the RP, NUTS and other special terms out of this terminology. Student will be skilled in regional policy methods and will be able to apply it in practice. For this purpose he will know how to select relevant data and choose relevant method for their assorting. Results and knowledge he will know to construe.
