Course content
|
Conception of demography. Demographic and geo-demographic phenomena and its determination, time in demographic analysis and demographic network. Population status and structure - population number and distribution. Population structure - according to gender, age, marital status. Population according to social groups, economic activities. Population according to occupation, employment, education, nationality. Household, unit of demographic analysis. Cairo conference - population reproduction, abortion rate. Natural population growth. Fertility, abortion rate Marriage and divorce rate. Mortality rate. Mechanical movement (migration, commuting, tourism, population growth and population number).

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to report on the most important theoretical conceptions and practical observations in demography. Furthermore, it explains problems of the former, contemporary and expected population trend and emphasizes specific features of the Czech Republic demography, its genesis and contemporary results.
The student will be able to explain the basic demografic concepts and use the demographic data in economic-social analyses.

The graded assignment is granted upon passing the oral interviews on selected topics in the field of demography.
