Course content
Relation nature - economic activity - population, development of environment protection strategies, conception of sustainable development, Agenda 21. Conception of environment - rare and public goods, conception of external effects and possibilities of its internalization. Structure of environmental policy instruments, principles of its functioning. Direct (administrative) instruments, legal regulations of environment protection in the EU and Czech Republic. Indirect (economic) instruments and its functioning. Trading emissions permits. Negotiating procedures. Indirect (economic) instruments used in the Czech Republic. Duties used in air protection, water and soil conservation, mineral wealth protection, duties on waste dumping and its functioning. Public administration in the sphere of environment protection. Environmental care funding. Evaluation of natural resources (non-market evaluation, influence of time). Possibilities in quantification of environmental damages. Investments efficiency and environment protection precautions. Multi-criteria evaluation. Environmental management systems and its standardization, its use in territory development management.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the knowledge of the anthropogenic activity in the territory, its impacts and connections and its possible solutions in relation to the sustainable development. The course deals with functioning of feedforward and feedback in the environment, population, economy, environmental policy instruments, economic solution of the externalities internalization in the environment.
Student will be able make a structure of most basic environmental problems, which he could find in the public administration sector as well as private sector. He will be able to orientate oneself in environmental and economic interdependences by using of recoverable energy sources.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of micro and macroeconomy. Basic knowledge of management.

Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

The examination is granted upon completion of the following conditions: completion of the seminar paper. (Evaluated as satisfactory).
