Course content
|
Conception of demography as a science. Demographic and geo-demographic phenomena and its determination, time in demographic analysis and demographic network. Population status and structure - population amount and distribution. Population structure - according gender, age, marital status. Population according to social groups, economic activities. Population reproduction, abortion rate. Natural population growth. Fertility, abortion rate Marriage and divorce rate. Mortality rate. Mechanical movement (migration, commuting, tourism, population growth and population number).

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to report on the most important theoretical conceptions and practical observations in demography. In the course, students will gain knowledge about the sources of demographic data and construction of some demographic indicators. Attention will be paid to the analysis of demographic processes such as mortality, birthrate, marriage, divorce and migration.
The student will be able to explain the basic demographic concepts and use the demographic data in economic-social analyses.

The assignement is granted upon successful completion of an interview on selected topics of demography.
