Course content
Historical development of European economic integration. Economic integration development after WW II. Recent integration development (70s, 80s, membership enlargement and its methods, Single European Act, Maastricht and Amsterdam contract, Nice contract, convent, reinforced cooperation). EU institutions (its function and structure, historical development). European Commission. European Parliament. European Council. Council of the EU. Economic policies of the EU - regional policy. Single market. Entrepreneurship in the EU. Monetary policy and common currency Euro. Agricultural policy. CFSP. Social policy.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to illustrate historical development and principles of the economic integration process within Europe. Furthermore, to describe the EU institutions, its competences, functions and historical development and to analyze particular economic policies of the EU.
Student will well informed about economic integration development of the European Union. Student will be aware of the European institutions and principles of their cooperation. He will be acquaint in conception of common policies applied on european level. Student will understand special terminology and other special terms in this sphere. Student will be skilled in european policy methods and will be able to apply it in practice. For this purpose he will know how to select relevant data and choose relevant method for their assorting. Results and knowledge he will know to construe.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment, Work-related product analysis

The assignment is granted upon attendance at seminars and completion and presentation of the seminar paper. The condition for granting the examination is passing the final written or oral test.
