Course objectives:
|
The course AISH is composed of 4 individual courses, varied in time frames and credits (AISH 1, AISH 2, AISH 3, and AISH 4). The courses may be combined, but each course can be signed up only once! Maximum hourly dotation of clinical placement in AISH is 320h.
The aim of the course is to gain experience from the clinical practice, which will enable the student to perceive cultural differences in meeting the needs of healthy, ill, handicapped, and the dying clients in individual developmental stages.

Requirements on student
|
The exam is based on a confirmed 100% attendance at the internship, an evaluation by the mentor, a written reflection by the student, and a presentation of two case studies.

Content
|
40 h + 4 h self-study General content of the individual internship course: Social work in the Czech Republic. Becoming familiar with the system of social and health care. Becoming familiar with regulations and standards on their placement Applying methods, theories and principles of social work to the care of healthy, ill, handicapped and the dying clients. Social work in practice - reflection.
During the course the student will attend regular meetings, once every two weeks and present an interesting case report or practice experience that brought opportunity for discussion and reflection.

Competences acquired |
The student will complete his/her internship in workplaces that correspond to their specialization, will learn about the social and health care system in the Czech Republic, will become acquainted with standards and valid regulations for the provision of social care, and will be able to assess and critically evaluate cultural similarities and differences in social care. |
