Cílem této bakalářské práce je rozbor a porovnání romantických vztahů v povídkách "Under the Bridge," "Monkey Junk: A Satire on Modern Divorce" a "Muttsy" od Zory Neale Hurston. Úvodní kapitoly se zabývají představením Harlemské renesance se zaměřením na díla Zory Neale Hurston. Dále jsou definovány teorie milostných trojúhelníků a majetnického a povýšeného chování. V druhé části této práce jsou pak tyto teorie aplikovány na již zmiňováných povídkách. Některé aspekty jsou porovnány s novelou Their Eyes Were Watching God od téže spisovatelky.

Zásady pro vypracování
Práce se zaměří na zobrazení heterosexuálních vztahů v nedávno objevených povídkách "Under the Bridge," "Monkey Junk" a "Muttsy" od Zory Neale Hurston. První část objasní specifika harlemské renesance, pojedná o její důležitosti v oblasti afro-americké literatury a vysvětlí termíny, s kterými bude autorka pracovat v další části. V hlavní části práce se autorka bude věnovat zobrazení heterosexuálních vztahů a pokusí se vystopovat a analyzovat podobné a rozdílné prvky, s kterými texty pracují. Srovnávací analýzu studentka rovněž podpoří vykreslením této tematiky v jednom z nejznámějších děl Zory Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Práci zakončí přehledné shrnutí daných zjištění.
