The topic of this bachelor thesis is the comparison of the two similes of the Line and Cave from Plato's dialogue The Republic, with an emphasis on the lowest state of the Line, and the situation of prisoners in the Cave in front of the wall. The first part deals with the meaning of a simile. The second part discusses the parable of the Line. The third part is devoted to the simile of the Cave. In the conclusion, there is a comparison of the two lowest states of both similes.

Poslední část práce porovná vyložené pozice a závěr poskytne shrnutí celé řešené problematiky.
