This bachelor thesis focuses on the application of new knowledge for the treatment of ovarian cancer. The thesis summarizes current knowledge about the etiopathogenesis, symptomatology and diagnosis of ovarian cancer. It also deals with both standard and targeted treatment of ovarian cancer, including the issue of chemoresistance and subsequent prognosis. In particular, targeted treatment options are described in detail here, which include inhibition of angiogenesis, immunotherapy and, last but not least, inhibition of transduction cascades associated with ovarian cancer.
